MonoJot is local-first. That is good for privacy and speed, but it comes with responsibilities you should understand.
Where notes are stored
Notes are stored in your browser on your device. MonoJot does not provide server-side note storage and does not keep a remote copy of your library.
What Screen Lock does
Screen Lock hides the app behind a PIN on shared devices or when someone else might pick up your computer.
What Screen Lock does not do
Screen Lock is not encryption. It is not a secure vault. It should not be used as your only protection for highly sensitive information.
Browser data matters
If you clear site data, reset the browser profile, or use an aggressive cleanup tool, your notes may be deleted. Download backups regularly.
Sharing note links
Shared note links can contain the note content inside the link. MonoJot does not upload the note, but anyone with the full link can read the shared content.
