Privacy Policy
What we collect
Almost nothing. MonoJot is a local-first application. Your notes are stored entirely in your browser's localStorage — on your device, not on any server we operate. We never transmit, read, or have access to the content of your notes.
The MonoJot website (monojot.pages.dev) is served via Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log standard server-side request data (IP address, user agent, timestamp) as part of their infrastructure operation. This data is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Weather data
The Today panel can display local weather. If you enable this feature, your browser requests your geolocation using the standard Web Geolocation API, which prompts for explicit permission. Your coordinates are then used to fetch weather data from a public API. We do not store your location data. You can revoke geolocation permission in your browser settings at any time.
Local storage
MonoJot uses localStorage to persist your notes and settings between sessions. This data stays in your browser. It is not transmitted anywhere. Clearing your browser's site data will delete your notes — which is why regular backups are strongly recommended.
Analytics
MonoJot does not use any analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising scripts. We do not know who uses the app or how they use it.
Third-party services
MonoJot loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Google may log this request according to their own privacy policy. No other third-party scripts are loaded by the application.
Children's privacy
MonoJot does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because no personal data is collected, no special handling is required. All notes remain local to the user's device.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of MonoJot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Terms of Service
Acceptance
By accessing and using MonoJot, you accept these terms in full. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not use MonoJot.
Use of the service
MonoJot is provided as a free tool for personal note-taking. You may use it for any lawful purpose. You are responsible for the content you store in MonoJot and for maintaining backups of your notes.
Data responsibility
Because MonoJot stores data locally in your browser, you are solely responsible for the safety of your notes. We strongly recommend using the built-in backup feature (Settings → Data → Download full backup) regularly. We cannot recover notes lost due to browser data being cleared, device failure, or user error.
Availability
MonoJot is provided as-is. We make reasonable efforts to keep the service available, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.
Disclaimer of warranties
MonoJot is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted. Use MonoJot at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MonoJot and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to loss of data.
Governing law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with that law.
Cookie Policy
MonoJot does not use cookies. The application uses browser localStorage to store your notes and preferences locally, which is not the same as a cookie and is not transmitted to any server. No cookie consent banner is required or shown.
