Using Smart Typing

Smart Typing handles small calculations and conversions inside the editor so you do not have to leave the note.

What Smart Typing is for

Use it for quick, low-friction writing tasks:

• simple arithmetic while planning
• everyday unit conversions
• quick checks while drafting notes

Simple examples

Type the expression and end it with =:

2 + 2 =
10km =
100F =

MonoJot inserts the result inline when the expression is recognised.

Keep expressions simple

Smart Typing is designed for small writing moments, not complex spreadsheet work. If a calculation needs precision, formulas, or auditability, use a calculator or spreadsheet and paste the result into the note.

Turn it off when needed

If Smart Typing interrupts a writing flow, disable it in editor settings. MonoJot should stay quiet when a helper is not helping.
